The search for the smallest possible particle continues. At the same time, science also explores the seemingly vast universe, mainly by searching for the smallest particles. Both sciences meet here. A particle accelerator with a diameter of about 40 meters and a length of 27 km was built at a depth of 175 meters at CERN in Switzerland. Here the particles are accelerated to almost the speed of light.

One of these particles is the very simplest atom: the hydrogen atom. It is brought into an unstable state where the electron is separated from the proton. In a magnetic field, the proton is accelerated to almost the speed of light and shoots at a carbon atom. The atom shatters and various particles such as neutrinos, quarks (up and down), photons and probably the most famous Higgs particle are released. This includes a pawn that immediately decays into an extraordinary particle, a muon.

The muon particle is high in energy and has almost 207 times the mass of an electron. And you can feel that too when you ride and experience a Muon e-bike.

This same energy is in our drive systems, in our people, in our veins and inspires us to develop e-bikes that let you do what you want, for any purpose. An energy that unites us to a common trait: sport. This is reflected in the design, in the geometry, in the comfortable seat, in the steering behavior, in the ease of driving and in the components used - everything speaks for sportiness. Muon is locked right in your heart.

Muon e-bikes in detail

Muon e-Bikes is just one of several trademarks owned by Timyo BV, a bicycle manufacturer from Roosendaal in the Netherlands. Timyo is active worldwide in the market for made-to-order e-bikes. As a powerful R&D department with advanced concepts and products, Timyo enables its trading partners to put together and market e-bikes that are in line with the market (co-creational workflow).

Together with a broad supplier network and an innovative logistics system, Timyo controls the entire delivery line, which contributes to a very fast 'time to market'. If necessary, Timyo takes over the complete assembly of the e-bikes. Timyo has various options within Europe for this.

With Timyo, Muon e-Bikes has the opportunity to offer smaller quantities of "tailor-made" e-bikes. So if you have special requirements for e-bikes / pedelecs for your company, talk to us and we will walk the path to your best e-bike together.

The frame

The developers at Moun Bikes want you to enjoy your mountain bike for many years to come . The balanced frames offer optimal stability , and the geometries are fine-tuned to the respective terrain and use. Care was not only taken to make the e-bike / pedelec as comfortable and attractive as possible, but also to ensure safe steering and braking . A Muon e-bike is made for you, is basically easy to ride and you will really enjoy it from the very first ride. That's muon.

Die-cast frame

After completed development and design studies, the frames of the Muon bikes are manufactured using a special die-casting process.

Aluminum tubing from the 6000 series is used in the manufacture of the frame. The tube for the stem (head tube), bottom bracket and struts are made of die-cast aluminum. The aluminum is injected into a mold and the frame is pressed under a pressure of 500 tons. This gives Muon bikes a light yet robust bicycle frame.

The painting of your Muon e-bike

Using the latest techniques, the paint is carefully applied layer by layer to the electrolytically treated frame. After the primer, the first coat of paint is applied. The frame is then masked with the greatest possible precision and the second color is applied. For this we use water-based paints, the waste water from which is collected for further processing. This is followed by a transparent powder coating with a high degree of clarity, so that the color is visually optimal.

Muon uses PMS colors. This renders a color with exactly the intensity that the designers intended. The clear powder coating supports this effect. Thus, we opt for truly rich and recognizable colors - colors that can be enjoyed for a long time.

Geometry

The models of the Work series are quite sporty, as is the seat. These models are used almost every day and in all weather conditions. The forward-leaning seat is more comfortable in windy conditions and saves energy. A relaxed ride is guaranteed. Because of this position, a narrower saddle was fitted. A more upright position was chosen for the Tour and City models. A little further forward feels very good. When cycling, it relaxes the wrists and arms. Since you automatically sit slightly forward when cycling, this is also the position for which the bicycle parts should be adjusted - completely tailored to you. More information can be found here.

Muon bicycle handlebar

It seems so obvious, but our engineers just won't rest when it comes to the handlebars. Logically, because you always hold it in your hand when cycling. That's why it's good to take a look at this page: Position. A wide handlebar is standard*. The handlebars can be shortened and adjusted to your width by your dealer. The oversized bulge in the center contributes to maximum strength so that every reaction is felt immediately. The slant angle of the bar ends is designed so that you fall naturally into the handlebars, so to speak. Your dealer will be happy to help you with the setup. *Does not apply to the multigrip handlebar.

Especially on long journeys, the Muon Multigrip handlebar offers the advantage that you can change position easily and comfortably. The leather sleeves are comfortable and help keep hands from sweating.

Handles

All of our handles are handmade. This leather is uniform in thickness, feels immediately comfortable and is stitched with a durable thread. Both sides of the handle are equipped with an anodized aluminum locking ring. Check with your dealer for location to avoid tingling hands. For our 'Multigrip' handlebars we use so-called sleeves, which are made of comfortable foam and leather to prevent sweaty hands.

Tires

Muon has chosen Vittoria tires. This brand is best known as a manufacturer of road bike tires. The experience gained in this way is reflected in the tires we use. The most important properties are low weight, durability and excellent ease of movement. The long-lived element is made of graphene. It forms a layer just a single atom thick that fills in the voids in the rubber. This gives the tire excellent wear resistance. The top layer is designed for directional stability and cornering grip.
